COD Control Install on Shopify

Docs · Setup

Set up in five minutes

  1. 1Install the app

Install from the Shopify App Store. The app opens inside your Shopify admin — there is nothing to configure outside of it and no theme code is touched.

  2. 2Pick your countries

Choose allow (COD shows only in the countries you list) or block (COD hides in the countries you list), then add countries. The preview under the editor shows exactly where COD will appear. With no countries selected, the rule is inactive and COD shows everywhere.

  3. 3Save — you’re live

Saving activates the checkout customization. Test it from your storefront: set a shipping address in a listed country and check the payment step. Buyers without a shipping address yet always see COD — the rule applies once the address is known.

  4. 4Optional: cart limits (Pro)

Set a cart minimum and/or maximum (in your store currency). Carts at or beyond a limit hide COD — e.g. with a maximum of 300, a 300.00 cart no longer offers COD.

  5. 5Optional: the COD fee (Pro)

Enable the fee, set a default amount (fixed or percentage), then override per country where your courier charges differently. Add label translations for your buyers’ languages. The fee is added to the order as a taxable line right after checkout, so tax is calculated by Shopify — and it’s shown inside the COD method name at checkout before the buyer chooses.

Fee lines apply to orders in your store’s own currency. Multi-currency orders are tagged cod-fee-skipped and counted on your dashboard — never silently charged.
  6. 6Custom COD names

The app matches Shopify’s built-in “Cash on Delivery (COD)” method by default. If your store uses a custom manual payment method (say, “Contrassegno”), set that name in the editor’s “payment method name” field.
